The Ps5 Saga Continues
The release of the Sony ps5 has been one of the most hotly anticipated events of 2020. Unfortunately, it seems that Sony has not been able to keep up with the demand and the ps5 has been sold out almost as soon as it's been released. As a result, desperate gamers have been resorting to scalpers in order to get their hands on the elusive console. In this blog post, we'll take a look at what's causing the ps5 shortage and what Sony is doing about it.
Die-hard Playstation fans had been waiting for years for the release of the next generation console and they were not disappointed. The ps5 boasted some impressive specs including a built-in 4K Blu-ray player, 8K resolution support, and 3D audio. On top of that, it was also compatible with Playstation VR, which is a huge plus for gamers who want to experience the immersive world of virtual reality.
So why can't Sony keep up with the demand? There are a few factors at play here. First of all, Sony only released a limited number of consoles on launch day. This was probably done in order to avoid the same stock issues that plagued the release of the Xbox Series X/S, which resulted in Microsoft having to apologize to gamers who were unable to find a console on store shelves.
Secondly, there has been major disruptions in the manufacturing and supply chain process. This means that even if Sony wanted to produce more consoles, they might not be able to get their hands on the necessary components. And thirdly, there's the simple fact that demand for the ps5 far outweighs supply. It's estimated that there are around 7 million ps5 consoles currently in circulation compared to an estimated 30 million people who want one.
