Children's Tylenol and Advil is Back on Some Shelves

This morning we spotted Children's Tylenol and Children's Advil on the shelves of a Shoppers Drug Mart on Mount Pleasant Rd in Toronto. The shortage appears to have expanded to some areas in the US and it isn't just border towns. Shortages are being felt as far away as Marin, California. According to ABC7 news, they are seeing a 20X increase of the flu within the wastewater.

Acetaminophen is a drug that reduces fever and also provides temporary relief of pain from arthritis, backaches, headaches, toothaches, cold and flu, muscle aches, and menstrual cramps. It is often branded as a common pain reliever or cold and flu medication. Tylenol is often synonymous with acetaminophen.

Ibuprofen is a go-to option to manage pain in injuries with swelling. It is an anti-inflammatory drug used to relieve pain from headaches, dental pain, muscle aches, arthritis, and menstrual cramps. Ibuprofen also helps with cold and flu symptoms as it relieves minor aches and can reduce a fever. Ibuprofen brand names include Advil and Motrin.

We are hopeful that this is the beginning of the end of the shortage, but in 2022 style we will not be holding our breath.
